Medical conditions generally reported for routine driver re-examination:
- Paralysis
- Amputation
- Orthopedic Impairments Due to Injury
- Severe Arthritis
- Full Or Partial Loss Of Use On One Or More Limbs
- General Weakness, Stiffness, Or Shakiness
- Problems With Gait or Balance
- Assistive Devices Required To Ambulate – If Really Needed For Mobility And Balance

Medical conditions routinely reported to us that generally require a Medical Review:
- Visual impairments
- Loss of consciousness, dizzy spells
- Significant impairments of memory or judgement: difficulty recalling ideas or events, confusion, problems with orientation, difficulty following simple instructions.
- Drug and Alcohol Addiction
- Seizure disorders ( if a seizure has occurred within the last two years)
- Severe head injuries with problems related to memory, judgement, ability to maintain attention, or visual field deficits.
- Problems With Gait or Balance
- Sleep disorders

Diabetes (only if complications are present):
- peripheral neuropathy – numbness and tingling in extremities, which can affect position sense, or ability to feel the
brake and gas pedals
- hypoglycemic reactions – weakness, problems with vision, loss of muscle coordination, anxiety, personality changes; and
if untreated could result in delirium, coma and death.
- Peripheral neuropathy
- Severe cardiovascular impairments: severe chest pain, breathing difficulty, syncopy, or severe limitation in mobility.
- Severe psychiatric disorders which have required hospitalization or treatment for six months or more: disorientation, loss of
memory, lapses in consciousness, mistaken beliefs, severe depression, hallucinations, irrational behavior, incoherent or
disjointed speech, inability to process facts, violent or overly aggressive behavior.
- Progressive neurological disorders

Information the Medical Advisory Board looks for when evaluating cases:
- Diagnosis
- Amputation
- Prescribed medications and treatment regimen.
- Compliance with treatment.
- Level of control of medical condition.
- Strength, coordination, reflexes.
- Evidence of memory problems, attention deficits, extremely irrational or inappropriate behaviors.
